10 Worst CGI Moments In DCEU History

4. Cheetah - Wonder Woman 1984

Whereas Wonder Woman was praised almost universally, its sequel was right at the other end of the spectrum. It was one of the biggest disappointments in the DCEU, which is really saying something, but at least it did have something in common with its predecessor. Both movies featured strong villains that by the end were so heavily draped in poor CGI they were almost undermined by it.

It happened with Ares in 2017, and it happened with Cheetah in 2020, though the latter was much worse.

Bringing such a character as a half-human, half-cheetah to life is always going to be a difficult line to walk, but Wonder Woman 1984 really dropped the ball with Barbara’s character. Nothing about her transformation into the Cheetah looked real, while it committed the cardinal sin of forcing audiences to focus on how poor the CGI was rather than the movie itself.

Some fans were so disappointed by this work that they went so far as to compare it to 2019’s Cats, arguably the most infamously hated CGI in recent cinematic memory. As harsh as it may sound, these fans do have a point.
