10 Worst Movie Mistakes Of 2021 (So Far)

2. Student Switches Clothing - Mitchells Vs The Machines

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
Netflix

The Netflix exclusive, Mitchells vs. the Machines, centres around a dysfunctional family struggling to bond with each other during a robot apocalypse. (Typical scenario.) With its zany humour, hilarious dialogue, and inventive action sequences, Mitchells vs. the Machines became one of the funniest comedies of the year.

It may deserve a lot of phrase but that doesn't mean it's devoid of goofs. During the climax, Katie says goodbye to her family as she prepares to enrol in college. Just before she leaves, the family perform their customary moose call (don't ask why), which causes the four students behind them to gawk at the Mitchells in confusion.

When this happens, you can see the boy on the left is wearing a blue t-shirt and green shorts. But in the next shot, he's wearing a red t-shirt and trousers. It may seem like a simple mistake but it makes less the sense the more you think about it. If this character was already rendered, why did the animators create the same character with different clothing? That feels like a lot of extra work with no purpose except to screw up the continuity for this shot.
