5. Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

Here's one film title that made me shudder and cringe when I first saw the trailer in the cinema; the Alvin and the Chipmunks films are atrocious, cynical vehicles for very young children, made all the more unbearable by the "cutesy" puns employed in each title. The worst to date - yes, somehow worse than "Chipwrecked" - has to be the second film, sub-titled "The Squeakquel", a play on the fact it's a sequel, and the fact that, yes, the chipmunks are high-pitched and squeaky sounding. I feel dirty for even bothering to explain that; I'm sure you "got" the title without my help. Every time I've ever spoken about the film - which I assure you, isn't very often - it's been embarrassing even having to refer to the title, and I'm sure plenty of crestfallen parents taking their kids to see it on release couldn't bring themselves to say "squeakquel" either. If people are too disgusted to even say the title, it probably means you should change it.
