10 Worst Movies Ever Released In January

4. Paul Blart: Mall Cop

Columbia Pictures

Release Date: 16 January 2009

Why It’s Bad: It’s a comedy about a fat idiot who works as a security guard at a mall and most of the “jokes” revolve around that fact, so when mall is taken over by criminals the “fun” stems from watching him attempting to save the day by running into glass doors. Who needs Police Academy when you’ve got movies like this?

Shockingly, it became the first January release to make more than $100 million so a sequel followed that went on to become Sony’s biggest earner in 2015. And people wonder how Trump won.

What The Critics Said: “The last name Blart may be the funniest thing in the movie, so that’s a hint as to just how bad this shopping center saga can be.” (USA Today)
