10 Worst Performances In Awesome 2017 Movies

9. Chris Sullivan – Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Beauty And The Beast Belle
Marvel Studios

A perfectly enjoyable sequel, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 might not have been as perfect as its predecessor but it did everything we’ve come to expect from a GOTG film – it charmed us, it made us laugh and it even made us get a little bit emotional too.

Though as great as GOTG 2 was, it wasn’t without its faults and one of its less enjoyable elements came in the shape of Chris Sullivan’s performance as stupidly-named, subpar secondary villain Taserface.

Part of the problem is that Taserface is just another lesser antagonist that the movie doesn’t really need when it has the brilliant Kurt Russell as Ego and feels like a red herring shoved in just to distract from the Ego reveal. But Sullivan doesn’t exactly do himself any favours crafting a forgettable, one-note villain who growls out his lines like an angry, cliched pirate and throws his weight around like a high school bully.

Luckily, GOTG 2 killed off Taserface so unless some pointless, ridiculous retcon is pulled we shouldn’t be seeing him in the next sequel.
