10 Worst Performances In Comic Book Movies

1. Jared Leto - Joker (Suicide Squad)

The Joker is one of the most dangerous roles anyone could ever take on. Whether it was Jack Nicholson donning makeup for the Clown Prince of Crime in '89 or Heath Ledger creating the embodiment of chaos in 2008, it takes a certain seasoned actor to actually make one of the greatest comic book villains come to life. Or if you're Jared Leto, the solution might just be to act like an ass to everyone around you and see if it sticks.

Even though he has only graced us with one performance in Suicide Squad, Leto's take on the Joker is one of the most lackluster performances in comic book history.

On the surface, it looked like we were going to be in for one of the most brutal takes on the Joker ever seen onscreen, but with everything that ended up getting cut from the film, Mr. J ends up looking like a flashy influencer in white makeup who never really does anything.

This film also offers another gut punch to the character by suggesting he dies midway through the climax, which acts as a cheap bait and switch for one of Batman's most memorable adversaries. By the time we actually see his survival, most fans were more bemused than anything else.

For a character that prides himself on being funny, this version of the Joker will fill you more with rage than actual laughter.
