1. The Death Star (Star Wars)

You knew it was coming. It might be one of the coolest bad guy lairs in cinema history, but it's also one of the most laughably ineffective and easiest to destroy. Though Darth Vader's not-so-humble super-weapon was kitted out with all the mod-cons you could possibly need, specifically giant guns and state of the art security devices, it all came down to a small exhaust port left open, which the Rebels were able to fire into and blow the Death Star to holy Hell at the end of the first film. It's ludicrous; how about just welding a panel in front of the port or something? If that port hole can make the Death Star's reactor vulnerable with just one shot, it needs to be covered. Even more amusingly, the second Death Star that's under construction during Return of the Jedi somehow seems to be able to withstand more punishment before being blown to bits.
