4. Tyler Mane
A wrestler in the late '80s and early '90s, Tyler Mane's ring name from his short tenure with WCW may ring a bell for die-hard fans of the sport. After signing in 1993, the Saskatoon-native performed under the name 'Big Sky', and largely teamed with Kevin Nash (Vinnie Vegas at the time).
Beforehand, he had toured New Japan Pro Wrestling and entered the ring for a number of independent promotions. The 53-year-old made the switch to acting after Nash transitioned to WWF to become Diesel, leaving the 6'8" behemoth in limbo and gone from WCW within a year.
After a stint as champion in the short-lived Universal Wrestling Federation, Mane retired and by the turn of the decade, had become a fully fledged actor. Movie fans will most notably recognise Mane from his role in X-Men. The Canadian played Sabretooth, a sadistic and brutal mutant mercenary and one of Magneto's henchmen. Starring alongside the likes of Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and Ian McKellen, Mane's jump into the acting deep-end in just his second role led to an impressive performance and the start of a successful career switch, which has seen him in over 30 film releases and make over a dozen television appearances over the last 20 years.
