10 X-Men Villains That Could Follow Apocalypse (And Who Should Play Them)

2. Daken (Iko Uwais)

If Hugh Jackman really is leaving the X-Men franchise after The Wolverine 3, what better way to ensure the legacy of Wolverine than by introducing his son, Daken. In the comics, Daken was the lovechild of Logan and a Japanese villager named Itsu. The apple fell quite far from the tree, though, since Daken is very much a villain. Daken€™s mother died when we was still in the womb, but the healing factor he inherited from his father allowed him to survive. Wolverine didn€™t know about this, until an adult Daken confronted and attacked him years later. Since Hugh Jackman's Wolverine exists over the entire timeline of the X-Men film franchise, it'd be easy for the writers to slot Daken and his mother in somewhere in history. Upon meeting him, Wolverine believes that Daken - shown to be a murderer, amongst other things - is irredeemably evil, but doesn€™t want to kill him. This could be a great plotline for the third Wolverine film, and could potentially tee up Daken for a villainous role in a later X-Men film. Daken has been known to team up with other baddies for nefarious schemes, which could be an interesting angle. Iko Uwais of The Raid movies would be the perfect Daken (although the origin story may have to be tinkered with, since he€™s Indonesian, not Japanese). His martial arts skills would be a great addition to the franchise, and a dark role like Daken would allow Uwais €“ usually the hero - to flex different acting muscles than usual.
