10 X-Men Villains That Could Follow Apocalypse (And Who Should Play Them)

3. Onslaught (Mark Strong)

Onslaught came into being when Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr€™s personalities were accidentally merged during a battle. Professor X tried to shut down Magneto€™s mind, but unintentioned combined it with his own. The result was a super-powerful uber-villain with the power to control minds and move objects, as well as possesing superhuman strength, metal-manipulating and reality-warping capabilities. After the accident, the evil Onslaught persona began bubbling to fruition within Charles. When he next got angry, the beast was unleashed and eventually took its own physical form. When Onslaught reached his full power, he began plotting to transform the entire human race into a shared consciousness under his control. In the comics, it took the combined force of the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and the Avengers to defeat Onslaught. The film version wouldn€™t be exactly the same, of course, but Onslaught could still be a formidable foe for the X-Men to battle. Perhaps they€™d need to call in help from Deadpool, X-Force and The New Mutants to stop him. As for casting, perhaps Fox would look for an evil British voice to accompany a part-CGI creation, serving to represent what Charles and Erik€™s combined headspace might sound like. If they do go down that road, no one does British and baddie better than Mark Strong. (Well, except for Tom Hiddleston, but he€™s busy.)
