100 Greatest Movie Villains Of All Time

34. The Wicked Witch Of The West - The Wizard Of Oz

Played By: Margaret Hamilton Margaret Hamilton's infamous witch certainly lives up to her description. She's a cackling caricature of a child's worst nightmare. The hysterical tones of the character made sure millions of children did not settle to easily, and some adults too. The bright green skin stands out with the black attire and Hamilton plays the witch in the campest manner imaginable and the whimsical cackling has long been imitated but never bettered. The Wizard of Oz has a weird gothic undertone thanks to the witch and the nightmarish figure of the witch has haunted young children for decades.

33. Mr. Blonde - Reservoir Dogs

Played By: Michael Madsen Mr. Blonde is a charismatic, unhinged psycho and the wild man in Joe's gang of criminals. Blonde likes to taunt his prey before devouring them, most infamously in the ear-cutting scene where he plays with helpless cop Marvin before severing his ear and dousing him in gasoline. Annoyingly, it is hard not to like Mr. Blonde - he is effortlessly cool and nobody looks better than him in the suit and shades. He gets all the memorable dialogue and the iconic scene and somehow it is impossible not to love the rogue sociopath. Michael Madsen has never been better and Mr. Blonde is a big reason as to why Reservoir Dogs remains Quentin Tarantino's best film.

32. Michael Myers - Halloween

Michael-Myers Played By: Nick Castle Michael Myers has been described as pure evil by everybody from the creators of the Halloween franchise to the measly viewer. Myers wears a plain white mask which is symbolic for the absence of emotion in Michael. Myers never once shows any resemblance of humanity, choosing to do what he does simply because he can - he's a psychopath with no motive for his actions. Myers is not a character you are allowed to sympathise with and unlike a lot of great villains, the audience holds nothing but repulsion for him. Myers' legacy may have taken a hit with the endless sequels and remakes but for viewers of the original Halloween, he's one of the most brutally fearsome characters that has ever appeared on film.
