11 Giant Plot-Holes You Didn’t Notice In 2017’s Biggest Movies

9. Why Can't Russia Change The Nuclear Launch Codes? - The Fate Of The Furious

The Fate Of The Furious

The latter half of the movie revolves around Dom (Vin Diesel) stealing the Russian nuclear football in New York and delivering it to the villainous Cipher (Charlize Theron), who wants to use the launch codes in Russia to start a nuclear war...because reasons.

However, it's extremely difficult to believe that the Russian government wouldn't have disabled the day's launch codes in the time it took for Dom and company to travel from the U.S. to Russia.

Considering how fiercely guarded the codes are and how many contingencies every armed state has in case they're stolen, there's no way they wouldn't be remotely deactivated, in turn making Cipher's plan fail spectacularly.

But then again, it's a Fast and the Furious movie, so what are we even doing picking holes in the plot?
