11 Horror Movie Remakes Coming In 2017
6. Day Of The Dead
The second of George A. Romero’s Living Dead films to get the remake treatment in 2017, Day of the Dead was previously remade in 2008, albeit very loosely, in a Steve Miner directed project whose deviation from the original plot, vegetarian zombie Bub and anti-canon, super-fast undead earned it a universal panning.
It’s been stated that the new remake, directed by Spanish filmmaker Hèctor Hernández Vicens, who recently disturbed moviegoers with his necrophilia-themed feature debut The Corpse of Anna Fritz, will stay more faithful to Romero’s original (including his signature slow zombies) than the last attempt, which should calm diehard fans somewhat.
But considering that Day of the Dead is not only a fan favourite, but Romero’s own personal favourite in the Living Dead series too, any remake is a risky venture.
