11 Most Disappointing Post-Credits Scenes Ever

5. The Gentleman - Amazing Spider-Mans

There's not a real good explanation for what's happening in these post-credit scenes. It's hard to explain because, as you may know, the Amazing Spider-Man series were the film equivalent of a Jackson Pollack - so much film splattered against the screen. Stories were brought up, cut, written and deleted, all during the making of a film, only to be brought up, dropped, and rebooted for the next one.

The only connecting thread between the two - aside from a hip, web-slinging hero - is a mysterious man who appears at the end of both movies. In the first he confronts the Lizard, asking if he told Peter Parker the truth about his father. At the end of the second, he looks through a vault containing the weapons of the Sinister Six.

Don't go getting excited, either, it's not like this is a big character. He's a one-off from the comics, called the Gentleman, who was set up to be... mysterious? And weird? The end credits were disappointing because each of them seemed to point to a story point that would never get picked up and were confusing as heck.
