11 Predictions For DC’s 2 Mystery Comic Book Movies

8. Wonder Woman 2

The announcement of the two mystery films coming in 2018 and 2019 stated that Wonder Woman is being moved up a couple of weeks in 2017. That indicates that Warner Bros are already more confident in it, as it shifts the release to within a week of Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 - a legitimate box office hoover.

If Warner Bros and DC are to plough ahead with the DC Extended Universe, they need firm, confident statements, and the early green-lighting of a Wonder Woman sequel would be one of the biggest possible. It would also reaffirm the studio's commitment to a diverse comic book movie slate, which wasn't wholly convincing in Batman v Superman's sidelining of both Wonder Woman and Lois Lane.

This of course would require Warners to acknowledge that there genuinely is an audience for female-centric comic book movies, but the noises they're making are good.

Probability: 8/10

Despite the fact that she was utterly pointless for most of Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman represented a publicity win for Warner Bros, and they would be pretty stupid not to double down on her with a quick sequel in 2019.
