7. Booster Gold/Blue Beetle

As of September 2015, the news has been out in the wild that Warner Bros are looking to develop a buddy cop-like comedy vehicle for superheroes Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. Since then, development talk has been limited, but there's no reason to think it's been cancelled.

It would represent a fairly big swerve for Warners and the DC movie universe, but at this stage any project that makes it impossible for Zack Snyder to take too much of a creative lead on should be heartily embraced. And he doesn't exactly have much previous with comedies.

It's a left-field choice, without doubt, but so was Guardians Of The Galaxy for Marvel, and Ant-Man proved that comic book movies can be driven by comedy. If Warner Bros hired the right team to write, a buddy hero comedy would not only be refreshing, but it would also steal a march on Marvel who are yet to wade into those waters.

The fact that it's a gamble would still leave some question marks hanging though, and it might be that DC hold off on tonal diversification until they have a stronger foundation.
