2. Why Will Diana Abandon Mankind?
The Question: It's known that something happens in the movie that leaves Diana disillusioned with humanity, until she returns to help take down Doomsday in Batman v Superman. What is it?
The Answer: The leading theory is that her lover Steve Trevor will die, and her heartbreak will send her into self-imposed exile.
However, it's also possible that this will only partially contribute to Diana swearing off mankind. The main reason may be that she conquers Ares in order to bring World War I to an end, but the war continues due to that pesky thing known as human nature.
If this is indeed the case, it has the potential to make the movie's climax an unexpectedly affecting social commentary.
