11 Things You Learn Rewatching The Spy Who Loved Me

5. Anya Amasova Is A Criminally Underrated Bond Girl

As much appreciation as the movie gets among fans, one of its most consistently under-praised aspects is the featured Bond girl, Anya Amasova aka Triple X (Barbara Bach).

In addition to being smart, sexy and physically capable, she doesn't bang Bond right away and has one of the more interesting Bond girl motives (avenging the death of her lover). Her own tortured state reflects Bond's, as would be homaged quite blatantly in Quantum of Solace.

She not only saves Bond several times, she also fearlessly holds her own physically against Jaws for a few beats, gets a ton of screen time, and even after finally hooking up with 007, she still plans to kill him for offing her lover.

Sure, she becomes a damsel-in-distress by the end of the film and ultimately succumbs to his charms, but for the majority of the movie she's a standout element and remains one of the all-time best Bond girls (in search of a far better film, mind).
