9. Mr. Wint & Mr. Kidd Provide The Worst "Comic Relief" Of The Series (Diamonds Are Forever)
Diamonds Are Forever is hardly a Bond film for the ages, and one of the big reasons for this is that the film features the most insufferable comedy side-characters in the entire series, Mr. Wint (played by Crispin Glover's dad) and Mr. Kidd, a pair of assassins hired by Blofeld (Charles Gray) They spend most of their screen time exchanging terrible puns like this: Mr. Kidd: If God had wanted man to fly... Mr. Wint: He would have given him wings, Mr. Kidd. The producers also made the rather unexpected choice to imply heavily that the pair are gay lovers, though the exaggerated nature of this portrayal as "deviant" caused many to accuse the filmmakers of homophobia. This just compounded the fact that these characters were immensely irritating and helped ruin an already pretty poor Bond flick.
