11 Unintentionally Awkward Movie Moments

11. Weird Close-Up Of Jennifer Lawrence In The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was a huge blockbuster. Everyone wanted to see whether Katniss chose Gale over Peeta, what the game maker had in store for the next tributes and whether President Snow would have his ass kicked this time. The ones who read the books wanted to see how much they butchered the story. The movie turned out to be quite good. But then the ending scene came along. This scene. Ending with a close-up, really? Only the best actors and actresses can pull that off, and though Jennifer Lawrence certainly belongs in the latter camp, there's still potential pitfalls. So even when the acting is fantastic, it can still give off a The Bold & The Beautiful-vibe given the wrong choice of music. Good or bad awkward? The acting nor the music was good here. So, yes, bad awkward. Jennifer Lawrence is a great actress, but in this particular scene, she€™s just overacting instead of acting. The swift change of emotions is not really credible either. She switches from being devastated to being angry in a heartbeat, and the swelling music doesn€™t help. By the way, who put make up on Katniss while she was out after the games? She looks like Effie from Skins, for god's sake.
