7. War For The Planet Of The Apes
The Plot: Little is known beyond the full-out war between humans and apes taking place, but it seems that the film will revolve largely around Caesar (Andy Serkis) seeking to protect his family and ape-kind while the human leader, simply known as the Colonel (Woody Harrelson), takes the war to him.
Why You'll Cry: It's been a pleasant surprise how much emotional depth the two new Apes movies have had, in large part thanks to Weta Digital's jaw-dropping visual effects work combined with Andy Serkis' incredible performance as Caesar.
The first two movies already boasted potent enough material to at least give you a lump in the throat, and considering the possibility that Caesar may very well die by the end of War (for real this time), it has the potential to be an extremely brutal conclusion to the trilogy, regardless of whether or not more movies are to come.
