The DCU so far has presented a darker take on the Man Of Steel; he’s not the optimistic boy scout of the Christopher Reeve era and has been forced to kill to save lives. Dawn Of Justice dropped pretty heavy hints he’ll eventually turn evil, namely from Batman’s nightmare/vision of the future and The Flash’s warning about Lois Lane.

There are rumours Superman will be evil when he returns from the grave in Justice League or darker at the very least. All these ingredients appear to point towards an Injustice movie, based on the video game. The game's story told of a world where The Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois, leading to Supes punching a hole in The Joker and declaring war on all criminals.

He acts like an all-powerful god, and Batman leads a small resistance against him. It makes sense the story would go in this direction, though with DC’s recent efforts to lighten things up following a backlash to BVS, they may have cooled on this idea.
