4. The Psychic Mutants Will Appear – War For The Planet Of The Apes
The original Planet Of The Apes series took some strange detours, with Beneath The Planet Of The Apes being delightfully demented. It featured an army of deformed psychic mutants living under the planet, who force the heroes to fight to the death and they worship an atomic bomb.
The insanity of this sequel means it holds a special place in the hearts of fans, and it’s doubtful something so openly unhinged would get made now. It felt like there was no place for the mutants in the modern series, but there are hints they could return. In War For The Planet Of The Apes Woody Harrelson leads a group of soldiers dubbed Alpha Omega, a not to Beneath since the muties worshipped the Alpha-Omega bomb.
Apparently, the virus that wiped out most of humanity is still changing, and might possibly be mutating the human's survivors. If they do appear War probably won’t do the full on psychic battles, but it would be super cool regardless.
