12 Actors Who Almost Walked Off Huge Movies (And Why)

8. Mike Myers Insisted On Bohemian Rhapsody (Or Else) - Wayne's World

Wayne’s World has a number of memorable moments and gags, but the most famous scene in the whole film comes minutes after the opening title card.

As Wayne and his friends cruise around town together, he puts a cassette tape into the car so they can sing along and bang their heads to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. Freddie Mercury would die months before the film's release, however, he was able to see the head banging scene before his death, finding it hilarious and approving the use of the song for the film.

It’s almost impossible to imagine Wayne and his friends banging their heads along to any other song, but that was exactly what the studio behind the film would try and do.

To try and save money, Paramount Pictures wanted to use a Guns ‘N Roses song, but Mike fought against this and was prepared to leave the whole film if the change went ahead. The song would stay in the film, and so too would Mike.

The film would kickstart Mike’s career in acting and make Bohemian Rhapsody the number one song in the singles charts, 17 years after its initial release.
