3. James Franco (Future World)

James Franco has proven himself to be an extraordinarily talented actor in recent years, but his filmography is also wildly all over the place, largely due to him appearing in many low-budget, ill-advised movies directed by both himself and his friends.

Franco's latest "art project" is Future World, a low-fi post-apocalyptic Mad Max rip-off he both co-directs and stars in. Franco does a lot of Big Acting here, but virtually none of it hits the mark because neither the setting, premise nor characters are remotely interesting.

Franco basically resembles a crazy man screaming for attention, and couldn't seem further from the awards success he courted less than a year ago for the sublime The Disaster Artist.

He already has more than half-a-dozen projects lined up for release next year, so it's certainly possible for Franco to one-up (or one-down?) himself within the next 12 months.
