12 Actors Who Should Play The Joker In Scorsese's Origin Movie

8. Bradley Cooper

Much like DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper would offer an older head to the role, but that should in no way discount his claim to it. And his ability is precisely what should qualify him as an intriguing left-field choice.

Cooper has some of the best range in Hollywood, and the idea of him bringing some of what he did for his vocal work as Rocket Raccoon to a full performance is definitely intriguing in this context. He's proved in the past few years since his big rise to the A-list that he can do intense and charismatic in spades.

Cooper is one of the most surprising and gifted actors currently working, capable of chameleon-like transformations and committed to his characters in a way that often ignores the comparative poorness of the material he has to work with. He'd offer the kind of Joker you absolutely couldn't take your eyes off, charming in Jack Nicholson's sort of vein, but with that glint of fury he'd need.

And if we're looking for difference compared to the most recent portrayals of the character, that'd be a hell of a way to do it.
