The Actor: Chris O'Donnell already had a Golden Globe nomination to his name before he took on the role of Dick Grayson in Batman Forever, but after that threequel€™s impressive box office haul he looked ready to reach the big leagues. Of course, Forever was incredibly derivative, adding a neon glow to the increasingly tired gothic nature of Burton€™s Batman, But with a sequel on the way, things were looking up.

The Film: Batman And Robin is a film that, if it hadn't been such a public disgrace, many wouldn't believe even existed. As camp as the Adam West Batman, it makes the merchandise focused Star Wars prequels look positively reserved. Now if there€™'s one person whose career Batman And Robin destroyed is would have to be Joel Schumacher; try as he might his recent films are met with little fanfare. But we'€™re talking actors here and as George Clooney somehow survived, it€™s his co-star who took the brunt of it.

What Happened Next: Clooney aside, most of the cast suffered, but unlike Uma Thurman (who went on to Kill Bill) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (who became the Governator before returning to acting), O'€™Donnell'€™s career spiralled downwards. There'€™s nothing of note in his CV, which looks like money grabbing at best. He managed a few cameos on long running TV series, but the promising young actor€™s career was dead by the time Gotham melted.
