12 Actors Whose Careers Were Destroyed By A Single Movie

9. Terrence Howard - Iron Man

Iron Man Terrence Howard
Marvel

The Actor: It€™'s hard to imagine Iron Man ruining anyone€™'s career; Robert Downey Jr. is once again a Hollywood player thanks solely to Tony Stark. What€™'s even more amazing is that Terrence Howard was the highest paid actor on the the film that created the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following up from the ensemble Crash with a universally adored performance in Hustle And Flow, 2008 seemed like the perfect time for Howard to jump into blockbuster movies.

The Film: We all know Iron Man and what it led to, but Howard was an altogether forgettable part of it. When it came to a sequel, Marvel realised no one was fussed about Cpt. Rhodes when compared to Stark, so Howard€™'s pay check was severely cut. Shocked that his generic turn as an army type wasn't getting him more money, Howard left, leading to Don Cheadle taking up the War Machine armour.

What Happened Next: Since then, Howard€™'s done next to nothing; he€™'s appeared in a fair few minor films, including George Lucas€™ perplexing Red Tails, but nothing compared to the award noticing performances before. The actor€™'s actually blamed Iron Man for his fall from (near) the top, but while that film was the catalyst, the real cause was his undeserved greed.
