8. Scoot McNairy
Scoot McNairy made a name for himself appearing in Gareth Edwards' riveting 2010 debut Monsters, and since then has demonstrated an incredible penchant for playing wiry, downtrodden, anguished supporting characters in the likes of Killing Them Softly, Argo, The Rover, Gone Girl, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and, most recently, HBO's True Detective.

A better fit for the put-upon underdog than the buff action hero, Scoot's in dire need of a frontline role that makes the most of his immense acting chops.
