12 Badass Action Movies You Need To See Before You Die

7. Bullitt (1968)

Bullitt reunites The Magnificent Seven€™s Steve McQueen with Robert Vaughn and gives them 2 of their best roles, with Vaughn playing a slimy politician who sends McQueen€™s ice-cool cop to guard a witness, little realizing he has him guarding the wrong man. If you want to know why they call McQueen the King Of Cool, this is the movie to watch. So calm and controlled he makes Clint Eastwood look unsubtle, he doesn€™t need to shout or throw furniture in order to get your attention. If he wants to own a scene, all he has to do is enter it. Special mention has to be made of Bullitt€™s car chase, which after nearly 50 years still holds up as one of the all-time greats. Bear in mind, this was before The French Connection, The Blues Brothers et al, so when people say they don€™t shoot action sequences as well as they used to, this is the scene they€™re referring to.
