12 Biggest Box Office Flops Of 2017 (So Far)

2. Baywatch

Ghost In The Shell
Paramount

Ah, poor Paramount: 2017 just isn’t their year. First there was the embarrassment that was Monster Trucks, then the disappointing Ghost in the Shell and most recently the big screen adaptation of the camp, David Hasselhoff fronted classic TV show Baywatch.

If, like Paramount, you thought that the idea of scantily clad stars like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario cavorting around on a beach occasionally saving people from drowning was enough to draw in the crowds then you’d be sadly mistaken.

Opening the same weekend as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales which dominated the US box office despite being just as bad didn’t really help Baywatch’s cause, but then again neither did its pitiful plot and the tidal wave of scathing reviews that followed.

Just prior to its release there was talk of a sequel already in the works but funnily enough that chatter seems to have died down after Baywatch’s box office failure. Which is probably the best for all involved.
