12 Comic Book Movie Characters Who Deserved Better Deaths
3. Rorschach (Watchmen)
In 2009's Watchmen movie, Adrian Veidt AKA Ozymandias formulated a plan (using Doctor Manhattan as an unwitting accomplice) to unite the Soviet Union and the United States by destroying all of the world's major cities - essentially helping to create world peace by killing millions. The whole thing needed to be kept a secret to prevent a third World War, but Rorschach - played by Jackie Earle Haley - wanted to tell the world. As a result, when he headed off to do exactly that, Doctor Manhattan used his powers to vaporise him. This was a harsh death. Rorschach had fought for justice for years - even when masked vigilantes like him were outlawed - and he deserved to go down fighting. He actually went out with something of a pathetic whimper. More to the point, by wanting to tell the world about Ozymandias' rather despicable plot, he was actually in the right. Regardless of Ozymandias' ultimate motive, he had killed millions and deserved to be punished. It should have been him that Manhattan turned into a bloody mist.
