7. Cyclops (X-Men: The Last Stand)

Although James Marsden's Cyclops has never exactly been the most popular character in the X-Men movie franchise - thanks largely to his rivalry with Wolverine, who is the most popular character in the franchise - the fact is he's a good guy. He led the X-Men in all of their heroic fieldwork and was loyal to the likes of Professor X and Jean Grey unconditionally - and he was understandably distraught when Grey apparently died. With all of that in mind, it was quite harsh when he felt the urge to visit her place of death to find that she was still alive, only to be killed by her malevolent alter-ego the Phoenix. He had only made the journey to her resting place because he loved her and, if he was going to die, it should have been valiantly, whilst in action leading the X-Men into battle. To have been cruelly lured by the Phoenix into a death-trap was not what he deserved at all.
