Disney Pixar's next animated feature is called Luca. It is arriving in June 2021. It will be directed by Enrico Caserosa. It is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides, and will be set on a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera. Luca's full name, Luca Portorosso, is a reference to Studio Ghibli's Porco Rosso.
The next announcement is Turning Red, director by Domee Shi, who had previously directed the short Bao. It is a story about Mei Mei - a thirteen year old girl who turns into a giant red panda when she gets too excited - which will be interesting!
Turning Red is set to land in theatres in March, 2022.
