Weve already seen a couple villains who got themselves caught as part of a preplanned escape, but The Joker made it cool back in 2008. Needing to get his hands on Lau to get the mobs money and also have a word with Batman, The Joker allowed Harvey Dent, Jim Gordon, and the aforementioned Dark Knight to catch him in fantastic fashion. No one demoralizes heroes quite like The Joker, however, as their tremendous effort helped him get exactly what he wanted. Dont buy The Jokers fib to Dent about not having plans. The Joker can design and execute plans with the best of them. Not long after he lands in a Major Crimes Unit jail cell, The Jokers means of escape arrives by way of a cell phone-detonated bomb inside a henchmans gut. To get into the right position, The Joker goads Detective Stephens into a fight, quickly turning the Gotham cop into a hostage. All The Joker wants is a phone call, which is all he needs to level most of the cops inside the MCU. The Joker retrieves Lau and leaves in style with that beautiful shot of him sticking his head out of a police cruiser window.
