12 Iconic Movie Characters Who Aren't As Cool As You Remember

11. Bart Simpson - The Simpsons Movie

In 2007, Bart Simpson became a movie icon, as well as already being a long-time established television icon, with the hugely successful The Simpsons Movie. America's favourite bad boy has been imprinted on the cultural subconscious for decades now, and he got up to his usual antics during the family's debut on the big-screen by messing about on a roof with his liable father, which culminated with him riding his skateboard through Springfield naked. Perhaps Bart can be forgiven as he's been 10-years-old for over 20 years now, but when even the President of the United States takes the time to denounce the character and his family for giving American's a bad name, you know he's doing something wrong (although, when said president was George W. Bush, it's difficult not to hail the yellow kid a hero). As The Simpsons approaches its 26th season, maybe it's finally time for Bart to hang up the skateboard and slingshot, find a cooler a friend than someone with blue hair who still wets the bed, and start taking inspiration from his genius sister and try hard in school. Either that, or when he does finally age, I'll be telling him to get a job as well.
