12 Insane First Drafts Of Famous Movies

5. The One Where Woody Was The Villain - Toy Story

The Movie We Know...

An enchanting tale of unlikely friendship between a jealous cowboy doll and the new pretender to his status as Andy's favourite toy, a Buzz Lightyear. The villains came in the shape of a sadistic toy torturer and the morbid advance of mortality itself. It's much more cheerful than that sounds, to be honest.

But, What We Almost Got...

Something a lot darker, again. Rather than Tom Hanks' Woody being a complex but entirely relatable figure terrified of being abandoned, in early drafts - which actually got to storyboarding stage - he was an outright douchebag and a bully. In essence, he was actually the villain, which would have been remarkably wrong with Hanks voicing him.

He also looked REALLY creepy, just to ruin the magic of the film even more...
