12 Marvel Mistakes Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Must Avoid

8. A Formulaic, Forgettable Narrative

As entertaining as the original Guardians was, it also had an extremely forgettable plot. Think back to yourself: can you really remember it beyond the basic beats of "Guardians meet, Star-Lord wants the Orb, Ronan wants it too, Ronan dies, The End"?

It's a movie driven by its personality rather than its storytelling brio, and while this flew the first time, fans might not be quite so forgiving for Vol. 2, which really needs to up its game and actually give us something compelling outside of the characters we're now mostly familiar with.

This could be an area where the movie really falls down, as it's entirely possible a little complacency could set in, though it's unlikely to dent the movie's commercial success all that much as long as the one-lines sizzle and the visuals are on-point.
