12 Most Anticipated Action Movies Coming In 2020 (And Beyond)
10. Black Widow (November 6, 2020)
Fans might have to wait a little longer to see Natasha Romanoff's long-awaited solo outing after it was recently delayed along with the rest of Marvel Studios' Phase Four output, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe's remarkable consistency makes it a virtual certainty that Black Widow will ultimately do the recently-departed title character justice in the end.
A major problem with prequels is that by taking place prior to events that we've already seen, there's never much in the way of dramatic stakes. However, so little is still known about Natasha even after a decade on our screens that there's plenty of both narrative and emotional ground to cover in establishing and expanding her backstory.
While the climactic third act action scene looks set to devolve into the formulaic CGI overload that we've come to expect from the MCU, the franchise has never really tackled the espionage genre before, and Kevin Feige and his team will be focused on delivering the best standalone adventure that they can to ensure Black Widow kicks off the studio's post-Endgame era with a bang.
