12 Most Dark And Twisted Movie Scenes Of 2018
11. The TWO Baby Scenes - Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

There are some things you can expect from Wizarding World movies: magic is obviously up there, but heart and some darkness to balance it are both always up there as well. Unfortunately, JK Rowling appears to have gone a little TOO dark in her strange, confusing sequel to Fantastic Beasts, since it includes not one baby murder but TWO.
The first comes when the film is attempting to establish Grindelwald's evil as he moves into Paris looking for Credence and kills innocent No Majs to steal their home as his new base. He does none of the killing himself, insteas sending minions to do his bidding. And then when he encounters the newly orphaned baby son of a couple he's just had killed, he looks at it curiously and then instructs his sidekick to kill the poor thing. That's disturbing, but it's not out of the blue for Harry Potter's universe (and there's a parallel to Harry's own origin there, obviously).
More disturbing is the second instance of infanticide when we learn of Credence's true identity and find out that his assumed sister Leta Lestrange actually swapped him for her real brother, who cried too much. We then watch in appalling detail - kids film, remember - as the swapped infant is drowned at sea. And when I say watch, we literally get to see its tiny body sinking in the ocean, wrapped in cloth. It's haunting and horrible.
