12 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming

1. Extraction 2

According to Netflix, 2020's Extraction remains their most-watched original movie, attracting 100 million viewers in its first four weeks of release. A sequel, then, seemed somewhat inevitable, despite the ambiguous - but not very hopeful - fate of Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth).

Originally, Extraction 2 was set to film in late-2020, with Hemsworth returning for more intense and brutal action, but due to the pandemic things hit a few bumps. Director Sam Hargrave offered some optimism about the film just this month, stating that despite the issues with filming at the minute, production will kick off in the fall and that Joe Russo has nearly finalised the script.

With its massive popularity and daring action scenes, including a 12-minute one-shot sequence that remains absolutely mind-blowing no matter how many times you've seen it, Extraction is the perfect film for Netflix to make a sequel to. It should be fair to say it will make for quite the spectacle when it's finally released.
