Although Whoopi Goldberg has often been closed-mouthed about her desire to return to the Sister Act series, it was reported at the end of 2020 that a third film was officially in the works, and that it would come out exclusively on Disney+ nearly three decades after the original film.
Goldberg is set to return to as protagonist Deloris Von Cartier, the eccentric singer forced into witness protection and thrown into a life as a nun.
If that wasn't enough to get fans onboard, Tyler Perry is set to produce and Goldberg is working behind the scenes to get the rest of the original cast back together.
No release date has been given just yet, but given how popular the previous two films proved to be and how much of a nineties favourite the comedies were, it's safe to say people will be more than willing to wait for the next instalment.
