12 Movies Where The Villain Turns Good

5. Megamind (Megamind)

The Grinch
Dreamworks

For the many supervillains who have long dreamed of finally vanquishing their heroic foes, few have ever pulled it off. Megamind, the brainy alien baddie of Metro City actually manages this when he soundly defeats long time rival Metro Man, a widely beloved superhero.

Without a hero to butt heads with, Megamind has something of an existential crisis and winds up creating a new superhero to battle. As is so often the case with villainous schemes, it goes horribly wrong when the heroic Titan quickly becomes the evil Tighten. With Metro City in more trouble than ever, Megamind discovers a new purpose with his life. Stepping up, Megamind fills the void left behind by Metro Man and becomes the city’s much needed new hero.

Like a fusion of Lex Luthor and Brainiac, Megamind’s journey into heroism provides a respectable spoof of both characters and the evil genius trope as a whole. Eventually landing a Lois Lane-inspired love interest of his own, Megamind winds up a successful and giant-headed substitute for his original heroic nemesis.

John Cunningham hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
