4. The Human Torch Vs Iceman

Fire versus ice again. Iceman, of course, took on Pyro in the X-Men movie franchise - and indeed defeated him. However, Pyro relied on having to artificially created fire in order to manipulate it and did't possess other powers such as flight, so fighting the Human Torch will be a different challenge entirely. As a result of the cosmic exposure experienced by the Fantastic Four in space, Johnny Storm gained the ability to assume a flame form, which granted him flight, fire manipulation and the ability to heat himself and the surrounding area to incredible levels indeed, during a test in the first Fantastic Four movie, he got close to "going supernova" and nearly reached the temperature of the sun. He also seemed to gain a level of increased durability during his flame-fuelled escapades, as smacking off the side of a bus at high speed didn't seem to hurt him at all and, of course, he becomes completely immune to heat damage. He did, of course, become more powerful when he combined the powers of the Fantastic Four following his exposure to the Silver Surfer but, given that's not his standard form, we'll not take that in to consideration for the purposes of this particular battle. Iceman was a rookie member of the X-Men in the movies whose powers over ice included being both able to create it and manipulate it. One of his first showings was to freeze Pyro's fireball when the latter tried to impress Rogue during class in the first X-Men movie, but he went on to do much bigger things (as well as some other small ones, like cooling down Wolverine's bottled drink by blowing on it and freezing a cup of tea to reveal his mutant abilities to his parents). He created a thick ice wall between Wolverine and William Stryker's military team in the second movie, put an icy coating on his lips so that he could kiss the otherwise untouchable Rogue and created a full-on ice rink outside the X-Mansion for him and Kitty Pryde to skate on. But it was in the Last Stand movie in which he really showed his abilities by defeating his nemesis Pyro with a powerful ice blast followed by a headbutt, after having turned his entire body to ice. Note sure a headbutt will cut the mustard here, though...
Winner: Flight helps a lot. And nearly reaching the temperature of the sun is a much higher power level than anything Iceman displayed - Human Torch.
