12 More Pairs Of Comic Book Movie Characters We'd Love To See Fighting Each Other

8. Mister Freeze Vs Pyro

Mr Freeze Pyro Fire versus ice - which Pyro has already experienced in a movie - but, this time, Pyro is going up against someone who, like himself, needs equipment to produce the element in question. Mister Freeze, as portrayed horribly by Arnold Schwarzenegger, is an expert in cyrogenics and inventions. As a scientist Freeze has a very intelligent mind. He is very resourceful and cunning with his plans, but an accident in his laboratory in which he fell in to a vat of cryo-fluid led to him relying on a suit that keeps his body cold to survive. Not only does the suit ensure that he is constantly provided with the sub-zero temperatures he needs, it also gives him great strength and an increase in durability. Additionally, Freeze wields a freeze gun which freezes an opponent instantly. Also, he has wings in his armour that allow him to fly. He also sports an array of different cold-themed weapons and devices. His main weapon is a large freeze rifle that shoots a very powerful freeze beam, but he also has access to a hi-tech freezing machine called the "Freezing Engine" which is made up of several white diamonds that can be used to freeze a whole city. He also possesses icicle bombs that can be detonated when pressed by a button on his suit and a vehicle called the Freezemobile that fires a freeze beam and icicle missiles. Pyro is John Allerdyce - a bratty Xavier Institute student turned prodigy of Magneto. Pyro's power, as you would expect from the name, is the ability to control fire - though he can't conjure it and requires the presence of an existing fire to manipulate it as he wishes. As a result, he also seems to be immune to the usual burning effects of fire - as seen when he held a fireball in his hand in the first X-Men movie. He carried a lighter at first, in order to access fire at any time, but later used a miniature flame-thrower-type device up his sleeve. His rivarly in the X-Men series of movies was with Iceman - a characters with a similar theme to Mister Freeze, but who could produce ice naturally without the use of devices, which perhaps gave him an advantage and helped him to defeat Pyro. Could Pyro, therefore, take advantage of the fact that Mister Freeze also has to rely on weapons like him and defeat him? It'll still be tough, put it that way. Winner: Thanks to having armour that could help to protect him against fire and thanks to having weapons that fire ice blasts with a single button press - Mister Freeze.
