12 Terrible Recent Movies Destined To Become Cult Classics
7. Pride And Prejudice And Zombies
Why It's Terrible: Why the hell would anyone make a PG-13 zombie movie? This limp adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel is more concerned with a half-a**ed adaptation of Jane Austen's iconic novel rather than crafting an entertaining zombie movie, as the latter takes a distinct back seat to the former.
What's worst of all is that the film takes itself oddly seriously, playing the zombie invasion with an almost totally straight face rather than leaning into the silliness of it.
Why It'll Be A Cult Classic: It bombed with critics and at the box office but will probably pick up steam with the teen crowd in particular on home video outlets, especially given the admittedly solid performances from Lily James and an hilarious Matt Smith, as well as an added-value cameo from Lena Headey.
It's a zombie film, so it's not like it's going to be ignored when it inevitably ends up on Netflix. Don't be surprised to see a ton of "DAE find Pride and Prejudice and Zombies totally underrated???" Reddit threads in the coming years.
