12 Things Marvel Will Want You To Forget About X-Men Movies

In 2015, with the MCU in full swing, Marvel wanted to double down on the shared universe idea by bringing the Fantasic Four into the X-Universe. This seemed like a great idea, and even the trailer for the movie looked decent. But what Fox produced was far from decent.

At 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, Fant4stic ranks lower even than Howard the Duck, and faced backlash from fans of Marvel's first family. Director Josh Trank famously blames Fox for the movie's failure, while the studio blames the director. Clearly there were countless problems behind the scenes, and the movie bombed at the box office earning less than $200,000,000 worldwide.

Soon after its release, Fox cancelled the sequel to Fant4stic that had already been given a release date. Instead of releasing in June 2017, the second movie of the franchise was completely scrapped, along with plans to integrate Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben into the X-Universe.

Marvel aren't the only ones who want to forget this flop.
