8. Black Adam - Shazam! (2019)

We may have a while to wait before the Shazam! movie hits the big screen in 2019 but there is one electrifying reason to hold on, Dwayne €˜The Rock€™ Johnson has been confirmed as the nefarious Black Adam. Child of Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II in the fictional region of Kahndaq, his fighting prowess and bravery impressed a wizard with the awesome name €˜Shazam€™ who bestowed him with god-like abilities. Unfortunately, after some meddling from Adam€™s demonic half-brother Blaze, these powers are drawn from the wrong Egyptian gods causing him to become super evil. With strength surpassing that of his heroic counterpart Captain Marvel and possibly even Superman, his addition to the DC movie canon has the potential to shake up the whole universe for the better. Adam has proved to be capable of defeating multiple members of the Justice League and various other super-squads single-handed so many will be curious to see just how powerful the adaptation makes him. It also helps his villain credentials that he's not above ruthlessly killing his enemies and has previously made examples of those who defied him through public executions. This certainly toes the dark, gritty line DC€™s movies seem set on walking. It also makes things especially interesting that he will be portrayed by the most likeable wrestler turned movie star of all time, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and many will be anxious to see how well he fills out this villainous role.
