5. The Scarlet Spider Suit

There was already a hint of it in the trailer, but it seems that Spidey's home-made suit that he uses before upgrading to Iron Man's augmented suit looks a whole lot like the Scarlet Spider costume worn by Ben Reilly in the comics.

The most pertinent question concerning this costume isn't really its influences though (even if they're a great little Easter Egg), but why it's involved in the film at all. So does Peter Parker go back to using his suit? Could it be that Tony Stark has hidden tracking technology in the new suit (just as he does in the Civil War comic book arc) and Parker discovers it?

The fact that the suit is important enough to warrant a Funko Pop Vinyl suggests it's involved for more than just a couple of scenes too.
