12 Upcoming Movies Nerds Should Be Most Thankful For

5. Deadpool

Release Date: February 12th 2016 By rights, Deadpool shouldn€™t exist as a film. The character reboots comes off the back of the worst X-Men movie starring the exact same leading man, and the source is an outrageous mix of fourth wall breaking, leg humping and downright filth. How anyone managed to convince Fox to green light it is nothing short of miraculous. But then, by similar token, Ryan Reynolds shouldn€™t be allowed anywhere near a comic book movie ever again, given his track record. Sometimes two wrongs really can make a right, so let€™s just all put this down to a Christmas miracle happening in February. Why Should You Be Thankful? Because it might just make R-Rated comic book movies a thing and it might prove to other comic book movie rights holders that you can make bold, rule-breaking movies that aren€™t family friendly and are still viable despite apparently smaller market pull. And it gives everyone something to look forward to at the cinema in February, when the traditional fare is garbage the distributors want to bury.
